Daoudov Participates in Dialogue on Local Integration Policies


President Murat Daoudov joined the workshop of the Integration Strategy Group (ISG) held in Istanbul on 2-3 June 2016 which focused on migrant and refugee integration policies at local level. The Integration Strategy Group (ISG) is a joint initiative of the German Technical Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). It is an expert exchange to assess the current opportunities and challenges of integration practices in Morocco, Turkey and Germany.

The aim of the Integration Strategy Group is to exchange internationally and generate insights for future policies and good practices in the policy field of integration. To this end, an interdisciplinary group of twenty Moroccan, Turkish, and German officials and non-government stakeholders from the migration policy field meet three times over the course of 2016 in the three countries. 

Expert in the nexus between decentralization and international migration and lecturer at Marmara University, Murat Daoudov has long record of practical and academic involvement in this field. He had notably pioneered in developing conceptual framework and laying practical ground for involvement of Turkish municipalities in the matters of international migration.
